Rep. Marino Slams Lynch, Clinton Meeting
Washington D.C.—Congressman Tom Marino (PA-10) issued the following statement regarding the meeting between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton:
“The meeting between Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former President Bill Clinton shows a complete disregard for our justice system and even rises to the level of misconduct. I have long believed that any attorney general must serve the Constitution and our rule of law before adhering to the president or a political party. Mrs. Lynch used poor judgment when she met with President Clinton and jeopardized the ongoing investigation into his wife, Hillary Clinton.
“Our Department of Justice should be viewed as a protector of the law. We are a nation of people who work hard and play by the rules. While President Clinton may not have much regard for the rules, it is unfortunate the attorney general would allow her office and the Department of Justice to be viewed in the same light. As a prosecutor, Mrs. Lynch knows exactly how improper and unusual this meeting was and any attempt to deny such is an insult to the American people. I have lost confidence in her ability to run the Department of Justice.”
