Rep. Marino Responds to FBI Re-Opening Investigation into Clinton Email Server
Washington D.C. – Rep. Tom Marino released the following statement on the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Friday announcement that it has reopened its investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server to send and receive classified information:
“My colleagues and I on the House Judiciary Committee have continued to look into Hillary Clinton's use of an illegal, private email server. The further we delved into this matter, the more wrongdoing we found. With waves of new information and evidence coming to light over the past several months, it is only appropriate that the FBI has re-opened the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails.”
Rep. Marino questioned FBI Director James Comey in September before the House Judiciary Committee on his reasoning to offer immunity to Clinton Aides rather than impaneling a grand jury, obtaining a subpoena or simply seizing evidence pertinent to the case.
