Rep. Marino Applauds Delay of Set-Top Box Vote
Washington D.C. - Today, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler announced that the Commission would delay a vote on its proposed set-top box rule.
Rep. Tom Marino (PA-10) released the following statement:
“Chairman Wheeler’s decision to delay a vote on the set-top box item is welcome news for many of us in Congress as well as those in the creative community who expressed concerns about the proposed rule’s possible effects on legally guaranteed copyright protections. I remain skeptical that the FCC can adequately address creators’ concerns and their copyright protections with this new proposal, no matter how it attempts to deal with so-called technical issues. Proper consideration of the new proposal necessitates a full review and consideration of comments from the public and their elected representatives in Congress.”
