Marino Statement on Supreme Court’s Decision Upholding the Travel Executive Order
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Marino issued the following statement below on the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Trump’s executive order on “Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States:”
Congressman Marino issued the following statement:
“Today’s Supreme Court ruling affirmed the constitutionality of the actions that President Trump took to secure the United States. Admitting foreign nationals and refugees from countries with known ties to terrorist activity and where proper security screenings cannot occur poses a direct threat to the safety and security of Americans. While executive powers such as this should be used discreetly, especially with regards to immigration policy, the Immigration and Nationality Act is clear that the President has broad authority to protect the security of the United States. The Supreme Court made the correct decision in affirming this executive order as legal and constitutional.”
Congressman Marino is currently serving his fourth term in the House of Representatives. He serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law and also sits on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
