Marino Legislation Honoring Staff Sergeant Ryan Scott Ostrom Signed into Law
Washington, D.C.- Yesterday President Trump signed Congressman Tom Marino’s (PA-10) legislation H.R. 1858 into law. This law renames the United States Post Office in Liberty, Pennsylvania, as the “Staff Sergeant Ryan Scott Ostrom Post Office.”
Staff Sergeant Ryan Scott Ostrom was born on September 23, 1979 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania where he attended Liberty High School. After graduating from high school, he attended Mansfield University and pursued a degree in education science. Staff Sergeant Ostrom enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in 1997, serving with Company B, First Battalion 109th in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. During his time enlisted, Staff Sergeant Ostrom earned a Purple Heart, Combat Information Badge, Gold Star, Armed Services Ribbon, and numerous other awards. While serving his country in Iraq, Staff Sergeant Ostrom was killed in action on August 9, 2005.

His years of service and his record speak for themselves. He was a leader on his deployments and active member of the community back home. I am pleased to see this bill signed into law and look forward to the ceremony designating the post office.”
