Congressman Tom Marino

Representing the 10th District of Pennsylvania

Keystone XL Receives Another 'YES' Vote from Marino

January 9, 2015
Press Release

Washington D.C.—Congressman Tom Marino, PA-10, Lycoming County voted yes today on H.R. 3, the Keystone XL Pipeline Act. This bill is virtually identical to the previous legislation passed last year (H.R. 5682) in the 113th Congress. It authorizes the construction, operation, maintenance and connection to existing pipelines, terminals and transfer facilities along the pipelines proposed borders.

Congressman Marino said the following of this bill:

“This Republican House has passed it and we now have a Republican Senate that will move it forward. The President can threaten all he wants. We are doing what is right.

It has been over two thousand days since the first permit was filed to begin constructing the Keystone XL pipeline. This pipeline has been studied numerous times and has the endorsement of major players in both parties. Unions and independent voters support it. But it is the fringe few; the president’s loyal radicals which stand in the way of thousands of jobs, safer infrastructure projects and frankly, the president’s legacy as a thoughtful leader.

I am sick of talking about this pipeline. Everyone is. It is time to get serious and authorize its construction. The Nebraska crutch for this president is no longer a veil to hide behind. People are tired of political excuses and backdoor maneuvers. In the history of commonsense, this is the most commonsense infrastructure project recent Congress’ have voted upon.

Let us vote to build this pipeline. Now!”
